Shareholder Julianne Hall is an experienced and dedicated attorney with a passion for advocating on behalf of her clients in the complex world of insurance defense. Born and raised in Montana, Julianne’s desire to explore law was sparked by her participation on her high school policy debate team and enhanced by the study of Political Science and Business at Montana State University -Bozeman.

Her professional trajectory brought her to Elam & Burke in 2019, following an initial tenure practicing insurance law in Denver, Colorado, and then almost 11 years with another Boise litigation firm. At Elam & Burke, she specializes in first-party insurance defense, insurance coverage and professional malpractice defense. She has also gained valuable experience in complex commercial litigation, medical malpractice defense, construction defect litigation, and general civil litigation.

As counsel for corporations and insurance companies, she thrives in complex situations that test her expertise. Her love for the law and being in the courtroom form the essence of her work, propelling her to dissect legal matters, analyze and evaluate the defensibility of a case, and conduct thorough investigations and evaluations. Julianne’s skills shine in her preparation of summary judgment motions, crafting of pre-trial briefs, and representation of her clients in contested hearings and jury trials.

Beyond her professional duties, Julianne’s dedication to the legal community extends to serving on the Board of Directors of the Idaho Association of Defense Counsel for over five years, currently in the role of President-Elect and being a member for 15 years.  Julianne is an active member of the Idaho State Bar Professionalism and Ethics Section, an organization in which she served as an officer for over 5 years, including a multi-year stint as President. Julianne is also an active member of Idaho Women Lawyers, formerly serving as its Chair of the Health and Wellness Committee. Her commitment to nurturing legal talent is evident in her contributions as a Mock Trial Judge for the Idaho Law Foundation and her role in the Professionalism and Ethics Orientation for first-year law students at the University of Idaho for numerous years.

Outside the courtroom and office, Julianne enjoys time with her sports-enthusiast pre-teen son, whom she enthusiastically cheers on in baseball, football and downhill ski races, her energetic, almost school-age daughter, and her attorney husband, whom she met in law school. She finds freedom in downhill skiing, or in the serene embrace of the McCall mountains, accompanied by her family and her adventuresome terriers.
