KC L. Hovda
KC (Harding) Hovda is a commercial litigator who represents clients in complex business litigation, real estate, employment, and professional liability matters. Ms. Hovda has obtained favorable results for clients in state and federal court through dispositive motion practice and has settled many cases through mediation and other methods of alternative dispute resolution. She also has experience in appeals at the state and federal level.
Ms. Hovda joined Elam & Burke in 2020, after moving back to Idaho from Seattle. Prior to joining the firm, she clerked for the Honorable Richard C. Tallman of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit from 2015-2016 and then worked as a litigation associate for Stoel Rives LLP in Seattle. Ms. Hovda is barred in Idaho, Oregon, and Washington.
Ms. Hovda was raised in Boise, and she obtained her B.A. in Law and Economics from Idaho State University. Ms. Hovda received her J.D. from the University of Idaho, where she graduated first in her class and served as editor-in-chief of the Idaho Law Review. While in law school, Ms. Hovda served as a legal research and writing teaching assistant and participated in several moot court competitions, receiving the awards for Best Brief, Best Oralist, and Best Overall Advocate in the 2013 Raymond C. McNichols moot court competition.
