Christina M. Hesse
Ms. Hesse is a litigator who represents clients in complex civil suits. She joined Elam& Burke in 2021. Her primary areas of practice are medical and professional malpractice, employment, insurance defense, and other general civil ligation; she also has experience handling various intellectual property matters. Ms. Hesse is a particularly effective lawyer because of the combination of her innate curious nature and her scientific background, and is particularly adept at working with expert witnesses. Through strategic motion practice, she has obtained favorable results for clients in state and federal court. While in law school at Suffolk University Law School in Boston, she served as the Associate Managing Editor for the Suffolk University Law Review, acted as a student attorney with the Intellectual Property & Entrepreneurship Clinic, and was a national finalist and northeast region champion of the 2014 AIPLA Patent Law Moot Court Team. Ms. Hesse served as a judicial law clerk with the Massachusetts Superior Court for two years prior to entering private practice in Boston. She moved to Boise in 2018, where she continued practicing with another Boise litigation firm.She is an active member of the Idaho Women Lawyers, including serving as the Co-Chair of the Health and Wellness Committee, and is a graduate of the Idaho State Bar’s Trial Skills Academy.
Ms. Hesse is also the author of the Idaho Medical Malpractice Defense blog where she discusses medical malpractice law, trending issues, and recent litigation, from the defense perspective. Additionally, Ms. Hesse volunteers with Family Advocates by serving as an attorney for volunteer Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), called Guardians ad Litems, in the Fourth Judicial District of Idaho, where she supports volunteers and advocates for children’s voices in cases of child abuse, neglect, and abandonment.
Ms. Hesse grew up primarily in North Carolina and attended college at UNC—Chapel Hill. She and her husband, an Idaho native, have a son and dog, and are happy to call Boise home. Ms. Hesse, who has completed 10 marathons and one ultra-marathon to-date, enjoys running in the foothills, hiking in the Sawtooths and beyond, and exploring Idaho’s outdoor offerings with her family.
